About Us
Tattered World is a “virtual community,” otherwise known as a website focused on social interaction through a shared game. There are friends to meet, games to play, art to collect, and a sci-fi/fantasy story to participate in.
Our story begins 1,000 years after a great Cataclysm ripped apart the world, leaving only a small Remnant of reality untouched. This is where our users are from, in the story, as students of the surviving Hope University. Recently, mysterious creatures known as Kith have appeared from the Tattered World, and the students have been tasked with learning more about them!
What that means, in terms of gameplay, is that each user is treated as a student in the story, by various characters and during story events. Navigating through the site, playing games, posting on the Forums, and interacting with the story earns the user “Shards,” which are used as currency in the fictional world of the Tattered World. Users can also earn a special premium currency called “Gems” by completing special tasks, like logging in every day, or by donating money to the site via PayPal. These Shards and Gems can be used in the story to decorate your avatar, create collectible items, raise your Kith, and more.
Users must be 13 or older to join, and as such, we keep content restricted to approximately PG-13 guidelines. Staff and moderators monitor the public Forums and respond to any rule-breaking such as harassment by these Rules.
