Hello, everyone! Your friendly administrative rainbow is here to provide you with all the nitty-gritty details about this fantastic new feature of mutual destruction. Any items in your main inventory that can be crafted (regardless of whether you made them via Cooking or Tailoring, or received them through other means like Quests, Trades, Marketplace, etc.) will display in the "Ready to Unmake" section of the new Unmaking page. You can use the Search bar above it for easier browsing. Unmaking an item will turn the original, singular item into the same ingredients or materials that can be used to make the item. If an item can be made in multiple ways (for example, the White Thigh High Socks) then you'll see a list of all the possible ingredients or materials that you can get from Unmaking it. You will not always get every ingredient or material listed, but you will often get most of them. As a warning, your Unmaking level is twice as easy to raise as Cooking or Tailoring, and the act of unraveling reality will drop your Cooking and Tailoring levels. You'll want to make sure to balance your destruction with acts of creation by Cooking and Tailoring to lower your Unmaking level, though it's twice as difficult to drop as it is to raise... Each time you unmake an item, your Cooking and Tailoring levels will drop by one Recipe/Pattern amount. You'll need to craft twice, whether through cooking and/or tailoring, in order to drop your Unmaking level by one amount. If you don't, the unbalance will eventually get to you, and your Active Kith will be affected. Reaching the maximum Unmaking level will cause your Active Kith to cease learning and growing. Any items you give them, any Quests or games you do together, will mean nothing to them anymore. Don't worry! It's not all gloom and doom, my friends, you can just pop on over to cook or tailor something to lower your Unmaking level and resume activity per normal! There's definitely nothing else that could go wrong in the future from unmaking reality! :)
guess we need some volunteers soon :3 how spooky
Well, on the bright side, it looks like the recipes are still being learned at least! It might have been the wrong kitchen, but it could also be a caching issue - where your browser didn't realize it had something new to show you. Definitely keep an eye out in case it happens again, but if it's a caching issue, it should be solved with a hard refresh on the right Kitchen!
A small PSA because I don't want to set a bad example: You might see me online at all hours, but please don't believe that means I work 24/7. I take plenty of breaks! TW has a lot of things I find fun, like game design and creative writing and programming, so sometimes the stuff I do for fun happens to become "work" I use for TW later. My lack of a sleep schedule may make it seem like I'm always working, but really I just live on naps; I've been that way since a two-year-long struggle with insomnia when I was a teenager. Please remember to always listen to your body's needs and give your mind a break!
