Welcome, New Users!
The Tattered World team has returned (and is still recovering) from Otakon, where we met tons of awesome new users! If you're joining us for the first time, welcome! Here are a few quick tips to get you started!
- Be sure to complete the Tutorial for a quick orientation to Hope University! Plus, you can always learn more about a feature by clicking the gold Tutorial button at the top of any page on the site.
- There are tons of ways to earn items in the game! You can buy them in Shops, in the Marketplace, or on the Forums. You can also find free stuff in the University Lab, get cheap items from your Daily Quests, or ask your Kith to help you with their Kith Activities!
- In addition to your Daily Quests, Hourly Quests help you befriend the in-game characters, and Unique Quests are a great way to learn more about the story.
- You can find tons more tips in the Welcome to Hope and Site Guides forums! Plus, feel free to ask questions in the User Q&A forums at any time!
As for our current storyline in the game? Lots of shopkeepers are finishing up a fun July vacation in the Coral Reef, but rumors have been flying about some kind of mysterious danger brewing in the Enchanted Forest. Eh, it's probably nothing! Why don't we just... ignore that speculation for now, and start getting ready for our annual August Prism Party instead? I'm sure that won't have any consequences...

**koff**... Okay, Lil Flippy, read off to me which of these damn plants is what? Why didn't those airheads label any of these when they planted the Microgreens Irrigators?! Not all of us are Botanists! We don't all know the difference between this leafy green thing and that slight darker leafy green thing! It's bad enough I barely have enough consistent power down here to get anything to grow, I don't want to waste any of it. Ugh... Radiant. Just fucking radiant.
Code Update: 7/22/19
We've got a few site updates for you today!
First, we heard your requests for a less-saturated purple and have shifted the colors slightly. What do you think of this new change? Please let us know in this thread! We are still open to suggestions for our final 'default' color scheme, though we do still intend to add a dark theme and are considering user-made themes in the future.
Speaking of style, our star of the hour has had a makeover! Fray now has four stages of artwork to go with his soon-to-be-released Quests for all of you working to level up your Reputation with him.
We've added a tentative change to the User Shop page which hides any unused tabs. For example, an artist with lots of Custom Clothing but no Marketplace Lots will only display their clothing for sale, while a user who's never submitted any Custom items will only display their Marketplace Lots.
The User Profile page layout has been updated to put all the buttons on their own line, so they won't be hidden by long usernames anymore.
Reputation was bugged for logged out users, but that has been fixed so that the current Reputation rule should apply. For anyone unfamiliar, that means you lose 1 point of Reputation for each day you are logged out, unless you are at the minimum amount of Reputation for the level you've unlocked for a character. You'll never drop down a level of Reputation even when logged out.
The Event List page has been fixed so the History buttons work again.
Finally, automated emails should be working again! We were having so many issues with the email servers that for a while we had simply turned off the automated emails entirely, but they should all be back to normal now.
